Please observe the following rules when posting/asking for vote requests/referrals

*Members must be active for at least 2 weeks before they may ask for votes, referrals, facebook friends, or similar requests.
*The Referral & Vote Requests Forum is the ONLY area {besides your signature - after the two-week waiting period, of course} where you may request votes - do not post for votes in other forums or comments.
*Post the end date and how often we can vote for you in the title of your thread - ie: 7/7/09 1x/day
*Do not exceed one vote request/referral post per day and remember to vote for your fellow SA'ers!!!

***If you do not wait the 2 weeks and/or post in other areas you WILL be banned from posting and will have to contact admin to have your posting privileges reinstated

***NO posting for asks in any forum other than Referral and Vote Requests and *only* in your or other's vote threads.

NOT ALLOWED: posting your ask in Comments/PM's/Stickied threads.

 Waving Hi all

This is a note to those who enter "vote for me" type sweeps that are not listed at SA - If you come across one, please take a moment to let the editors know about it so it can be added to SA's listings:

One other item:

It is not appropriate to request votes for a sweep that was never listed here if you found and entered the sweep via another sweeps site.   nono

We are all sweepers.  If you are going to use the site to earn votes for a contest, please consider contributing to our community.

Thank you

http://www.sweepstakesplus.com/smf/voting-tips-t25218.0.html

Congratulations!  You're in a voting/referral contest and we want to help you win.  Here are some tips for what to put in your request:

*The name of the sweep with a quick description of what the contest is for, like cutest baby or messiest garage.

*A link to the sweep.  The closer you can get us to the voting page, the better.  If you can't link directly to your entry, tell us that you're "photo #4" or "Mary Q. from Wisconsin" so that we can find your entry.

*How often can we vote for you?  Once?  Daily?  Unlimited?

*When does the contest end?

*Please return the favor by supporting other SA members with their vote requests.  With a lot of the voting contests, after you vote, it will tell you what the vote tally is, or say something like "vote recorded 04-14-2007, 2:53pm".  If you can, copy this line into your "I voted" post to verify that you really did vote.

*It's really uncool to post "I voted" notes if you didn't vote.  You're not obligated to vote for anyone, so if you are not participating, simply remain silent.  Most of us would never claim to vote when we hadn't, but sometimes a person who is eager for support will save time by saying that a vote has been cast when it really wasn't.

*Tip - go into your Profile and post a quick "please vote for my kitty!" request along with a link in your signature block.  This will display the request every time you post a note.  When the contest ends, please remember to update your signature.

*Also, remember to check page 2 of the thread.  Sometimes there are a lot of requests and some go to page 2 depending on the number of contests running.

*You can send PM's to friends about your voting contest, but do not use the Personal Message system to send out random mass mailings.  This will earn you more negative feedback than votes.

*Did you win?  Let us know!

Someone asked -
Q: Can I post my link in replies, when I vote for people, but not start my own thread?
A: No. You cannot post your link anywhere until you have met the two-week requirement.

Our admin determined the 2 week waiting period as fair to weed out those who come to SA only for votes, and who'd leave shortly after.

There is no wiggle room, so please do not ask for special treatment, thanks.

If you are here 2 weeks +, remember:

*Post the end date and how often we can vote for you in the title of your thread - ie: 7/7/09 1x/day

***IF you post prior to the 2 week waiting period, your post will be modified to say:

I sent you a pm and modified your post because you just joined us today and you must be a member for 2 weeks before you may request votes from our members. This information is found right here in Referral and Vote Requests, "Rules: You MUST read this before posting for VOTES {Requests/Referrals} !"

Please observe the following rules when posting/asking for vote requests/referrals

*Members must be active for at least 2 weeks before they may request votes.
*The Referral & Vote Requests Forum is the ONLY area {besides your signature - after the two-week waiting period, of course} where you may request votes - do not post for votes in other forums or comments.
*Post the end date and how often we can vote for you in the title of your thread - ie: 7/7/9 1x/day
*Do not exceed one vote request/referral post per day and remember to vote for your fellow SA'ers!!!

***If you do not wait the 2 weeks and/or post for votes in other areas you WILL be banned from posting and will have to contact admin to have your posting privileges reinstated.

If you start a thread, the title will be changed to:

Not eligible to request votes

Waving Reminder - put the end date and how many times we can vote for you in your title:

*4/30* 4xpp Please help vote for me on my first win!

*Please return the favor by supporting other SA members with their vote requests.

With a lot of the voting contests, after you vote, it will tell you what the vote tally is, or say something like "vote recorded 04-14-2007, 2:53pm".

If you can, copy this line into your "I voted" post to verify that you really did vote.  sunny

ATTENTION - if you post an ask prior to being a member for 2 weeks, you WILL be banned for the remainder.

That means 2 weeks if you just joined today. If you joined and waited 5 days? You will be banned for 9 days.

We've had to resort to banning *everyone* who breaks this simple rule because we moderators have had to play catch up, while waiting for new members to stop posting their ask long enough to read the pm, and to stop posting.

So while this may have been an innocent mistake on your part, of late we've had quite a few who come to SA only for votes, OR referrals, and who'd leave shortly after, without returning votes.
